Spirit & Place: A festival of fun and ‘Food for Thought’
A key Indianapolis cultural event since 1996, the Spirit & Place festival grew out of a project conducted by Indiana University’s Polis Center in the 1990s that studied the connection between spiritual practices and inner-city life in the Circle City. Since then, the festival engages more than 15,000 people through a series of events and discussions each November. This year it’s Nov. 5-14, and its theme will be “Food for Thought.”

Lilith Fair: The world's most famous all-female artist music festival returns to Indy July 20
Set up in 1997 by one its founders, Grammy-award winning artist Sarah McLachlan, the Lilith Fair was one of the highest grossing touring festivals around the world. The festival was revived after much interest and is set for a return in July 2010.

Indiana State Museum Exhibit: In Her Honor – The Marty Wyall Story
Fort Wayne, Indiana, resident and World War II veteran, Marty Wyall is a pioneer. Wyall was only one of a thousand highly skilled and driven pilots who became the first women trained to fly and ferry military aircraft. These remarkable women were called WASP -- Women Airforce Service Pilots. The Indiana State Museum, in association with Puddlejump Pictures, has produced an exhibit and documentary about Wyall – Indiana’s only surviving WASP.
